ABOUT KINGS CREEK

Did you know Hastings used to be called “Kings Creek” before some “Bright Spark” changed it in 1889?

Hastings began as part of Mount Jane King's Pastoral run. Early fisherman built small
huts on the foreshore in 1854. Most of the boats were brought up into safety of Kings Creek as a mooring and Old Tyabb, just north of Kings Creek.
